Gather your documents
As part of this application you will need to provide the following:
- Evidence of adequate public liability insurance for $20,000,000.
Your insurance broker will be able to provide a 'Certificate of Currency', which should list Lake Macquarie City Council under 'Interested Party', provide an expiry date and the amount of public liability coverage. Please note that if your insurance policy expires during the period of registration, you will need to email the updated insurance details to [email protected] or your registration may be cancelled.
You will also need to comply with the Council conditions(PDF, 706KB) for placing waste storage containers on a public place.

Fees have been waived for this financial year as part of our COVID-19 business support program.
Once you have gathered your documentation, you can apply online. You'll need to upload electronic versions of the required documentation in order to complete your application.
Once signed in, you'll need to click on the Licencing tab and then New Request to get started.
