The next round of Community Environment Grants is opening in late July with successful applicants to receive funding in December this year. It's a good time for your community group to start thinking of project ideas - the program guidelines will remain very similar to the guidelines below. You are encouraged to discuss your project with Sustainability Engagement Officer, Bridget Saint on 4921 0624 (Tuesday and Wednesdays). The Lake Mac Community Environment Grants Program, formerly known as Environmental Sustainability Grants Program, is designed to support community-initiated projects that improve our local environment or inspire environmentally sustainable behaviour in Lake Macquarie City.
Not-for-profit community organisations are eligible to apply including school Parent and Citizen groups, community based pre-schools, service clubs, bush regeneration or conservation groups and Sustainable Neighbourhood Groups. Grants of up to $5000 per application are available for projects located in Lake Macquarie City. The number of grant applications funded per round is limited. These grants are offered twice a year.

The grants information webinar gives interested applicants an opportunity to learn more about the program and application process. These information sessions are optional but attendance is encouraged.

Council uses SmartyGrants to manage its grants program. Applications must be submitted via the Lake Macquarie City Council SmartyGrants webpage. Applications must meet the eligibility requirements and no late applications will be accepted.
Applications will open in late July 2022.
