Venue hire for events

Community events, markets, concerts, festivals, adventure races, and cultural events may require an event licence. To determine whether your event requires a licence or not, please answer the following questions:

  • Is the event ticketed?
  • Will there be more than 300 people?
  • Will there be on-site commercial operators or event coordination?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, you will need to complete an event licence application. For more information, please view our planning an event page.

If you answered no to all of the above questions, your event does not need a licence. Feel free to book a park or reserve, or another community facility such as a community hall or centre.
