Lake Mac is a city unlike any other. A city of vibrant communities connected by new ideas and life by the lake. A city of beaches, forests and next-generation thinking.

We are Lake Macquarie City Council: an innovative and sustainable organisation that supports our unique community by providing the essential facilities, services and infrastructure our people value. Our diverse workforce is made up of more than 160 unique professions, providing opportunity for you to grow your career and explore new possibilities.

Together, we believe in shaping our own future – not waiting for it. With our community and organisational values front of mind, we work with and for the residents and businesses that call Lake Mac home and strive to achieve our shared vision for our city.

We know it is our people that will shape the future of our city. That’s why we’re passionate about providing a workplace that empowers our staff to be creative, innovative and bold. When you join the team at Lake Macquarie City Council, you’re joining a group of people with a commitment to make our city even better. We’re proud of our city and the work we do, and we know you will be too.

Be rewarded

We encourage staff to make time for what’s important, and provide the perks to make it a reality

Our employees enjoy a nine-day fortnight, long service leave after five years, four weeks paid annual leave plus the ability to purchase up to two weeks additional leave. As well as remote working opportunities, depending on your role.

We proactively support our employees’ wellbeing with a discounted corporate fitness program – giving staff access to dozens of health and fitness facilities across the wider Hunter region, as well as in-house programs – a social club, and employee assistance program, allowing you and your immediate family to access mental health support when you need it.

We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We believe that a diverse network of employees, which truly reflects the people it serves and represents, is best equipped to understand and meet the needs of our community. That's why we do our best to understand the skills and attributes that all groups and demographics, including people living with disability, Aboriginal people and our veterans can bring to our organisation.

We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workforce. If you need assistance in your job application, you can contact us on 4921 0647 or [email protected].
