Youth Council

The Lake Macquarie Youth Council (LMYC) provides an important opportunity for young people to have input into Council decisions.

Lake Mac Youth Council:

  • offers young people the opportunity to participate in the public life of Lake Macquarie City
  • finds out about issues that are important to young people in the local area and provides advice to Council about addressing issues facing young people
  • participates in the planning, running and evaluation of local initiatives and projects for young people

Meetings are held each month on the second Wednesday of the month from 5-7pm. Lake Mac Youth Council welcomes visitors to sit in on meetings to see what Youth Council is all about.

If you're under 18, a parent or guardian will need to complete this application with you, as they will need to give their consent.

Lake Mac Youth Council are always on the look out for new members. If you're aged between 12-24, live in Lake Macquarie and want to have your say on how Council policies and actions affect young people, then have a look at the Terms of Reference(PDF, 281KB) and submit your application below:
