Calling all boaties

We are looking for boaties, friends of boat owners, community groups, school groups, artists or lovers of Lake Macquarie to help us light up the lake by decorating your boat in lights and taking part in the Float Your Boat flotilla in 2025.

Participation will take place over two nights;

  • Friday 20 June 2025 - Western side of the lake- Empire Marina Lake Macquarie to Toronto, Coal Point and Wangi.
  • Saturday 21 June 2025 - Eastern side of the lake- Empire Marina Lake Macquarie to Warners Bay, Eleebana, Valentine and Belmont.

Participation is free to enter and you go in the draw to win up to $1000 in cash prizes.  Lake Mac Holiday Parks have come onboard again for 2025 with 2 accommodation vouchers:

  • The ‘Refer a Friend’ prize is valued at up to $410 recommended retail price (RRP). The prize is a 2-night stay at Sails Holiday Park, Belmont in any available accommodation for 2 adults and 2 children.
  • The ‘first-time entrant’ prize is valued up to $560 recommended retail price (RRP). The prize is a 2-night stay at Wangi Holiday Park in any available accommodation for 2 adults and 2 children. 

Council will be offering $400 per boat for expenses associated with creating their light sculptures for the first 20 boats registered.

To complete the entry form, you'll need to have your boat licence, boat registration and insurance documents ready to upload.
