Float your Boat with us!

We are looking for boaties, friends of boat owners, community groups, school groups, artists or lovers of Lake Macquarie to help us light up the lake by decorating your boat in lights and taking part in the Float Your Boat flotilla in 2025.

We are aiming to have flotilla the length of 30 boats and we need you!

If:

You own or have access to a boat a minimum of 5m in length and maximum of 18m.

Are over 16 years old and your boat is driven by a captain with a current RMS boat licence.

You have a creative bent (or access to someone who does)

You would love to spend two beautiful nights floating around our lake (Friday 20 June – Saturday 21 June)

How to Enter

Float your Boat is free to enter and just requires you to complete the below online entry form

The first 20 boats registered receive $400 to assist in the creation of light sculptures

All entrants are invited to attend the make your own light display workshop

You can opt to moor your boat at Empire Marina for the 2 nights of the event

You are in the running to win a total cash prize pool of $2800 through the Mayors’ Choice and People’s Choice Awards

Entrant Prizes

To encourage entries into the flotilla Lake Mac Holiday Parks have come onboard again for 2025 to provide:

The ‘Refer a Friend’ prize, valued at up to $410 recommended retail price (RRP). The prize is a 2-night stay at Sails Holiday Park, Belmont in any available accommodation for 2 adults and 2 children.

The ‘First-Time Entrant’ prize, valued up to $560 recommended retail price (RRP). The prize is a 2-night stay at Wangi Holiday Park in any available accommodation for 2 adults and 2 children.

Boatie but not arty? Donate your boat and we’ll find you a designer

If you have a boat between 5m – 18m in length, we would love to hear from you. Please email [email protected] with the Subject ‘Boatie but not Arty’ with your boat details and we will aim align a boat designer for you.

Arty but not boatie? Bring your creative skills and we’ll find you a boat

Please email [email protected] with the Subject ‘Arty But Not a Boatie’ with your flotilla design idea and we can assist you in finding a boat.

Have a non-motorised marine craft? You can participate in our Live Sites!

There are opportunities to be a part of the activation of our Live Sites: Toronto, Belmont and Warners Bay. If you have an idea of how you or your group can contribute, we’d love to hear from you.
