Float Your Boat is set to light up the Lake again on 18-19 June 2021.
Float Your Boat is an open competition for boat owners to dress their boats with lights and take part in a flotilla parade for cash prizes.
Held over two nights on our beautiful lake Macquarie, spectators line the shores to watch boats in a rainbow of colour cruise past before casting their vote for the People's Choice Award.
Friday 18 June - Marmong Point Marina to Toronto, Coal Point and Wangi.
Saturday 19 June - Marmong Point Marina to Warners Bay, Eleebana, Valentine and Belmont.
There are many ways you can enjoy the magic of Float Your Boat. Here’s a few ideas:
- There is over 20km of front row seats for you and your family to get the perfect view of the flotilla. Pack some camp chairs and a picnic to enjoy the show, or watch your very own drive-in illumination show from the comfort of your car.
- For a proper night out, why not support our local businesses and reserve your table at your favourite restaurant around the lake – Toronto, Warners Bay and Belmont are dining hubs with plenty of options to choose from.
- If you have a view from your place, host a BBQ with family and friends. Show your support to our boaties with the traditional “torch flash-back at ya” and let the evening sky light up!

We’re currently looking for boaties to help us light up the lake. By decorating your boat in lights and taking part in the flotilla parade, you could win one of three cash prizes:
- People’s Choice Award - $2000
- Mayor’s Best Boat Award (10m and over) - $1000
- Mayor’s Best Boat Award (5m and over) - $1000

Location
The Float Your Boat flotilla parade will make its way along the western side of the lake on Friday night and the eastern side the following evening:
Friday 18 June - Marmong Point Marina to Toronto, Coal Point and Wangi.
Saturday 19 June - Marmong Point Marina to Warners Bay, Eleebana, Valentine and Belmont.
