 You can apply for formal access to government information under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.

Step 1.Contact us

Council has a range of open access information already available to the public. If you are unsure whether a formal access application needs to be submitted, please contact our Customer Service Centre, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, on 4921 0333 or email gipagroup@lakemac.nsw.gov.au to discuss your enquiry.

Step 2.Gather your documents

To complete your application, you will need to upload a completed GIPA Formal Access Application(PDF, 110KB)

You may also wish to upload supporting documentation to assist our GIPA Team with the assessment of your application. This could include documents such as property owner’s consent, location map or photographs.

Step 3.Consider the information you require

As part of you application, you will be asked to clearly identify the information you are seeking to access. Please ensure sufficient detail is provided to allow thorough searches to be undertaken.

A $30 application fee is payable when lodging your formal access application.

Take a look at the GIPA Formal Application(PDF, 110KB) prior to visiting us to ensure you bring all the necessary documents with you, including any supporting documentation to assist our GIPA Team with the assessment of your application. This could include documents such as property owner’s consent, location map or photographs. You do not need to print out the application form we can help you fill it out when you visit us.

As part of you application, you will be asked to clearly identify the information you are seeking to access. Please ensure sufficient detail is provided to allow thorough searches to be undertaken.

Step 4.Visit us

Visit our Customer Service Centre at 126-138 Main Road, Speers Point, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, and we will assist you to complete your application online. A $30 application fee is payable when lodging your formal access application. You can also apply by downloading and completing the GIPA Formal Access application(PDF, 110KB) and submitting it in person to Council.
