The Little Big Thing celebrates the identities of Glendale and Cardiff with an explosion of colour and form. Working within a limited but striking colour palette, the work borrows contemporary and historical elements from the area such as native flora and steam trains and transforms them into an bold, graphic artwork.

This sculpture was commissioned as part of the Glendale Transport Interchange project - an important infrastrucutre project designed to meet the future needs of Lake Macquarie through a critical transport connection between Glendale and Cardiff. The work celebrates the interconnectivity between the two suburbs with each ring representing a suburb with its use of colour, red being Cardiff, green being Glendale and yellow to represent Lake Macquarie.
