Some of our services are taking a short break over Christmas and the New Year. There are no waste, recycling and green waste collections on Christmas Day. All waste collections between Wednesday 25-Friday 27 December will occur a day later than usual.
Our Customer Service Centre is temporarily located at Speers Point Library, adjacent to Council's Administration Building.
This 13km route connects the growing southwest of our city. Starting near the Cooranbong shops, the path runs along University Drive and through Avondale University before crossing Dora Creek to Victory Parade. You can choose to walk your bike across the historic Swing Bridge or take the new shared pathway bridge.
A new shared pathway has been built on Freemans Drive to safely connect Victory Parade with Stockton Street. From here, riders will cycle on roads with medium traffic (Stockton and Kahibah Streets) into Morisset – where we're planning future upgrades.
The route crosses the train line at Morisset train station before joining the Fishery Point Road shared pathway, which travels to Bonnells Bay and eventually to Brightwaters via a shared pathway next to Bay Vista Road. Riders can then choose their own route to further explore the beautiful suburbs and foreshore areas in the Morisset peninsula.
A full list of Lake Macquarie shared pathways is available in our fold-out cycling map and online cycling map.
