What’s open and closed over Christmas and New Year

Some of our services are taking a short break over Christmas and the New Year. There are no waste, recycling and green waste collections on Christmas Day. All waste collections between Wednesday 25-Friday 27 December will occur a day later than usual.

Explore Our Great Outdoors

Each January, we invite our community to fall in love with their environment with the Explore Our Great Outdoors program.

The program features a run of events led by expert guides - including scientists, cultural leaders, and educators - that connect you with nature.

Explore Our Great Outdoors Summer Photo Competition

Share what you love about Lake Mac’s environment in the Explore Our Great Outdoors Summer Photo Competition.

This competition is all about celebrating the flora, fauna and ecosystems that make Lake Mac unique. Images should embody an ethos of treading lightly on the environment. There are some great prizes to be won!

Entries are open from 1 December 2024 – 17 January 2025 and winners will be announced on or before Tuesday 30 January 2025.
