Some of our services are taking a short break over Christmas and the New Year. There are no waste, recycling and green waste collections on Christmas Day. All waste collections between Wednesday 25-Friday 27 December will occur a day later than usual.
Our Customer Service Centre is temporarily located at Speers Point Library, adjacent to Council's Administration Building.
Save up to$35 on groceries with the $10 hampers which are absolutely packed with value! Reservations are essential for hampers. No reservations are required for our free cafe and open pantry services. Walks in are welcome and encouraged. There are pre-requisites to access our service. Everyone from any background is welcome. No judgement - just delicious food for the family while providing practical assistance and support. Guests are invited to stay and have a chat, the community library will be open for anyone who would like to read/exchange books. Hampers MUST be booked in advance and will be available for $10, you can pay via cash or card on arrival. You also get to select a time that is most convenient to you, so there is no rush. Hampers are limited to 1 per family. Book via the website or call on 1800 37 11 66 About: The NourishEd Pantry project aims to tackle hunger and food insecurity among the vulnerable, at-risk, and disadvantaged in our community by distributing quality rescued fresh food and pantry staples to all in need of food support. Their service targets VETS and families, victims of domestic violence, families with children, Indigenous Australians and people experiencing homelessness, to name a few. This service will reduce the financial burdens caused by the cost of living crisis to vulnerable individuals and families across the community.
