Some of our services are taking a short break over Christmas and the New Year. There are no waste, recycling and green waste collections on Christmas Day. All waste collections between Wednesday 25-Friday 27 December will occur a day later than usual.
Our Customer Service Centre is temporarily located at Speers Point Library, adjacent to Council's Administration Building.
Survivor’s R Us are hosting Lake Macquarie’s first Christmas Day Lunch this year for our community’s most vulnerable members. We are very excited to be able to deliver this support at Christmas time when so many people truly need it.
The event will be held at our facility – 57 Pendlebury Rd, Cardiff. And we will hold two lunch sittings with 75 people at each. The first will be from 12:00 – 1:15pm; and the second from 1:30 – 2:45pm.
We will have various local services registering vulnerable clients online that are interested in attending on the day, as well as our SRU support team. If you know of anyone needing support and who would benefit from this event, please either refer them to us, or another service close to them. Services, please let me know if you’d like to be a part of this registering process if you assist vulnerable clients in the Lake Macquarie area.
We would love your involvement and support if you’re interested in assisting us in any way. What better way to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, than to bring joy and peace to others experiencing hardship. Firstly, we will need Volunteers to help set-up the day prior (Christmas Eve, between 10:00am – 2:00pm), and also on Christmas Day with split shifts; 9:00am – 12:30pm or 12:00 – 3:30pm. You can register to volunteer for any of these time slots/ days here; https://events.humanitix.com/sru-christmas-volunteer-registration
ALSO, one last thing! We’d just love to remind you about the fundraising events we have coming up! If you can attend, or know someone that would like to, please share the information (plus social media tiles attached if you’d like to rally the troops!)
