Some of our services are taking a short break over Christmas and the New Year. There are no waste, recycling and green waste collections on Christmas Day. All waste collections between Wednesday 25-Friday 27 December will occur a day later than usual.
Our Customer Service Centre is temporarily located at Speers Point Library, adjacent to Council's Administration Building.
Muse: Source of Inspiration is an exhibition by supported artists from The Mai-Wel Group. In this exhibition a muse could be a relationship with a beloved dog, the joy of colour, lived experience with mental health or a memorable holiday.
Artists have explored a variety of inspiration from every day, personal life and used it as a foundation for their self-expressive arts practices in a range of mediums. Mai-Wel artists are supported in a studio-based environment by a team of practising artists from the Hunter Newcastle region, through one-on-one or group mentoring and activities. Mai-Wel Creative Arts provides an avenue for people to explore, create and progress their creative skills, extending arts practices and access for artists with disabilities.
Artists: Alex Rennie, Briety Dorahy, Jacob Harris, Andrew Ernst, Michelle Schafer, Daniel Rose, Helen Beggs, Christopher Marohn, Emma Parks (Mai-Wel Artists) supported by Art Mentor Jaymie Maley (Newcastle Artist)
