Some of our services are taking a short break over Christmas and the New Year. There are no waste, recycling and green waste collections on Christmas Day. All waste collections between Wednesday 25-Friday 27 December will occur a day later than usual.

Join us for Surfest’s 37th year! The event is the largest surfing festival in the southern hemisphere. Over 800 male and female competitors from across the Asia-Pacific region will compete for cash prizes and World Surf League rating points.

Lake Mac City Pro Junior Trials 2023 are open to male and female surfers aged 20 years and under. Entrants must live in the Lake Macquarie City Council Local Government Area.
Trial winners will be seeded into the WSL 1000 Lake Mac City Pro Junior on 25-26th Feb 2023.

The Lake Mac City Pro Junior will be held on Redhead beach on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th February 2023. The event is open to male and female competitors aged 20 years and younger.
This long running Surfest event provides a great opportunity for the Hunter’s best up-and-coming surfers to compete in an international event and experience competition at the highest level.
The Lake Mac City Pro Junior will be the fourth time a World Surf League event has been held in the Lake Macquarie City region. The Pro Junior will attract around 100 male and female competitors, aged 20 years and under, from across the Asia-Pacific region all competing for equal prize money.
