WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE MAC Society
The MAC Society aims to stimulate interest in art locally, to support the Museum of Art and Culture Lake Macquarie, yapang (MAC) and to assist financially with the acquisition of artworks.
The Society's fundraising activities have included art excursions, movie nights, wine tastings, dinners, high-tea afternoons and pop-up art markets. Since Covid has constrained some activities, the MAC
Society has adapted and now holds a monthly Second Saturday event at MAC
— a social occasion usually featuring a local artist. Recent significant
fundraiser initiatives have centred on guessing competitions run over several
months, with major art-related prizes as incentives.
Events and activities of the MAC Society are open to both
society members and the general public. (Society members usually benefit by
being offered a special members’ rate.)
