Join beekeeping expert, Dani Lloyd-Prichard from Time to Bee, as we learn the basics of backyard beekeeping.

Learn about a range of topics that need to be considered before becoming an urban beekeeper, including;

- different types of bees and hives available;

- selecting the perfect hive location;

- how to support your bees by creating a backyard of bee-friendly plants.

Important participant requirements:

- This event is for Lake Macquarie City residents, others may be waitlisted.

- This event is free, but tickets are required for each participant. -

Wear enclosed and nonslip shoes, protective clothing, hat and sunscreen.

- For the safety and well-being of all participants, safe-distancing and social gathering measures will be practiced and contact details for traceability will be kept.All attendees should follow the most recent COVID-19 safe advice from the NSW Government including not attending if you feel unwell, safe physical distancing by keeping 1.5m apart and maintaining personal hygiene by regularly washing your hands.- Council reserves the right to cancel the event if deemed in violation with the most recent safe COVID-19 safe rules.
