Some of our services are taking a short break over Christmas and the New Year. There are no waste, recycling and green waste collections on Christmas Day. All waste collections between Wednesday 25-Friday 27 December will occur a day later than usual.
Our Customer Service Centre is temporarily located at Speers Point Library, adjacent to Council's Administration Building.
Saturday 23 November, will start with a new edition to the festival - Mostro scambio swap meet (monster scavenge). This new edition to the festival allows participants to swap Italian car, motorcycle and pushbike parts. Which will be concluded with a pizza party.
On the Sunday 24 November, Thomas H Halton Park at Croudace Bay will be the epicentre for this cultural festival and will be transformed in a memorable hub of elevated family friendly atmosphere. It will showcase local business and produce from coffee, Italian food & artisan stalls, amazing gelato, an Antipasto zone, live music and games for kids and families to enjoy!
Pack a picnic blanket or grab a seat at our large Hamptons marquee with traditional long tables for people to enjoy food and shaded atmosphere from the summer sun.
The second component to the day is – Lap of the Lake.
At your own leisure, you’re encouraged to create your own foodie adventure and journey around the lake whilst enjoying a few less explored and super fun roads. Download a “Key Map” of Lake Macquarie’s participating restaurants, cafes, and tourist sights. Destinations will vary to cater to your varying tastes, budgets, and interests (ideally these will be Italian, but not essential). We encourage you book ahead to these selected venues to avoid disappointment.
