Sustainable Play Preschool

Sustainable Play Preschool is a preschool in Barnsley providing care and preschool education for children aged 2-6, with long care hours daily, Monday to Friday from 7:30-6:00pm.

Our school weaves sustainable and ethical practices into all aspects of children’s learning, wellbeing and educational outcomes while providing a quality, play-based educational curriculum. We provide all your child's meals for the day, made fresh daily by our in-house cook, following our delicious plant-based menu. 

Our preschool offers weekly music lessons with the Conservatorium, bush kindy excursions, gardening lessons, cooking experiences, visits from Indigenous elders, STEM activities, sensory play, risky play, creative arts, literary experiences, imaginative play, and more. We grow your child's love of learning and encourage the emotional, social, cognitive and physical school readiness skills for when the time comes. 

Our Educator team is mentored in the RIE Educaring approach that prioritises developing genuine connections with each child during routine caregiving moments throughout the day. In the preschool's construction, we devoted much of our grounds to beautiful outdoor learning spaces where children have room to learn, run, explore and connect with nature. We keep our large sliding doors open to the outdoors throughout the day, to encourage children to move freely in and out, with our trained Educators supervising. Our indoor spaces are freshly renovated, large open rooms with high ceilings and ample natural light. They are carefully planned and stocked with engaging, learning rich resources as well as dedicated calming, co-regulation spaces.
