You can recycle household quantities of used motor oil a number of ways in Lake Macquarie. All oils including cooking oil, petroleum-based and synthetic oils are accepted (including sump oil, differential oil, gear box oil, transmission oil, and power steering oil).
Used motor oil is extremely harmful to the natural environment if not recycled.
Businesses must use commercial contractors to take their waste oil. Phone Transpacific on 02 4920 1042 or Smart Earth Recycling on 1300 260 625 or check the recyclingnearyou.com.au website for information.
