What if my garbage bin is stolen or needs replacing
As the garbage bin is owned by the property owner, if you need a new garbage bin, you can purchase a 240 litre bin online with your credit card and have it delivered to your property. Fees and charges apply.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to pick up your new bin,EFTPOS payments will be accepted at Council Depot at 18-32 Creek Reserve Road, Boolaroo from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Cash payments will only be accepted at our Customer Service Centre at the Administration Building, from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, at 126-138 Main Road, Speers Point.
We can dispose of your old bin for you when your new bin is delivered. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please ensure that your old bin is placed out for collection on the kerb at the front of the property and that the bin is empty. If there is any rubbish remaining in the bin, the bin will be unable to be collected when the new bin is delivered. If you choose to have your new bin delivered, the delivery will occur between one to two days after the next scheduled garbage collection day for the suburb.
240 litre garbage bins can also be purchased from a hardware store. If you choose this option, ensure that the bin complies with Australian Standard 4123 for mobile waste containers to allow Council to repair the bin if it is damaged during collection.
What if I've moved to a new property

If you choose to purchase a bin from Council and have it delivered, the bin will be delivered as soon as possible (which is generally within 3 business days after receiving the application for the new bin).
