Super Street Sale - hold a garage sale with your neighbours.
Get three or more houses in your street to hold a garage sale on the same day and we will:
- advertise your garage sales in the Newcastle Herald
- promote your garage sales on our website, Facebook page and Twitter feed
You will also receive an electronic participant pack that will include resources to help you organise, promote and evaluate your event which includes:
- a Super Street Sale poster to promote your event
- a free garage sale kit, including tips and hints, to help you host the best garage sale possible
- recycling directory
Need help getting people in your street to join in
Download our invitation, fill in your details, and drop in the letterboxes in your street.
How to register
Once you have three or more houses in your street, complete the registration form online (by 5pm the Friday two weeks before the date of event). You will need the street address and email of all participating households to complete the registration form.

Frequently asked questions
How many houses can take part
To be eligible for the Super Street Sale program, you need to register at least three houses in your street or close proximity to your street. There is no maximum number. All participating households need to supply a contact name and email to receive a garage sale kit.
When is the best time to hold a garage sale
It's a good idea to check your proposed event date doesn't conflict with holidays or special events in your area that may compete for attendance. Garage sales typically start in the morning between 7-8am and run for four to five hours.
When do we need to register our event by
You need to complete your registration online by 5pm on the Friday two weeks before your event.
What do I do after my event
You will receive a survey following the event for you to complete.
