Lake and Freshwater Catchment Ecosystem Health Scorecards

Council and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage undertake monthly water quality sampling to provide estuary health information. The Lake Health Scorecards are reported annually through Council’s State of the Environment report.

Our Freshwater Catchment Ecosystem Health Scorecards (below) provide a snapshot on the freshwater catchment waterway health of Lake Macquarie’s main catchments. This data is also reported annually through Council’s State of the Environment Report.

Outcomes from both water quality assessment programs, are combined with the Lake Macquarie Estuary Response Model to provide a basis for effective environmental management.
