NSW Local Government Elections are conducted every four years and voting is compulsory. Lake Macquarie City Council has a popularly elected Mayor, together with 12 councillors.
A Local Government Election was held in Lake Macquarie on Saturday 10 September 2016. The Australian Election Company assisted in the management and conduct of the election for Lake Macquarie City Council.
The next Council election is scheduled to take place in 2020.
Voting is compulsory for all residents and fines may apply for not voting. So, to check you are correctly enrolled or to obtain an enrolment form visit elections.nsw.gov.au, phone 1300 135 736 or get a form from any Australia Post Office.
