Some of the items listed for discussion include:
Dwelling at 4 Beulah Place Kotara Heights
Council officers are recommending the approval of a development application at 4 Beulah Place, Kotara Heights for a two-storey dwelling. The dwelling has a maximum height of 13.309m, which is non-compliant with the maximum building height for the site; however the building height has minimal impact on neighbouring properties and is justified in exceeding the building height requirement.
Draft Cherry Road Eleebana Precinct Master Plan
Council officers are recommending Council does not adopt the draft Cherry Road Eleebana Precinct Master Plan following feedback from the community. Consultation on the draft Master Plan revealed a strong desire from the community to preserve the current character of the area provided by the current zoning and lot sizes.
Dual Occupancy at 15 Sea Eagle Crescent Caves Beach
Council will consider approving a development application for an attached dual occupancy at 15 Sea Eagle Crescent. The development application provides for the construction of additional housing in the area and is recommended for approval by Council officers.
Additions to dwelling at 15 Lakeview Road Kilaben Bay
Council will consider approving a development application for additions to a two storey dwelling at 15 Lake View Road, Kilaben Bay. The proposed additions are a ground floor garage extension and a first floor deck extension, both to the rear of the building.
Amendment to 2019 Council meeting schedule
Council will consider rescheduling the Ordinary Council Meeting for Tuesday 23 April to Monday 29 April and the Standing Committee Meetings for Monday 14 October to Monday 21 October to allow for the maximum number of Councillors and staff to attend both meetings.
Sponsorship funding program 2018-2019
Council will consider endorsing funding of $22,100 to groups and organisations through the Sponsorship funding program. Council officers are recommending funding be provided to the following groups:
- Jack Newton Junior Golf for the NSW Junior Golf Championship - $7,500
- Hunter School Sports Association for the NSWPSSA 11/s Rugby League State Championships - $2,600
- Cardiff Squash for the Lake Macquarie Squash Open - $2,000
- GG Management Pty Ltd for the Lake Macquarie Running Festival - $10,000
Proposed Acquisition at Cameron Park
Council will consider authorising the acquisition of 1898.2m2 within Part 140 Minmi Road, Cameron Park to allow for road widening of the intersection in this area.
Donations and financial assistance
Council will consider providing $2,000 in financial assistance towards the office fit-out of the new fire station at Wyee Road, Wyee.
Youth Week Grants 2019
Council will consider authorising more than $6,500 in funding for Youth Week Grants to be held in Lake Macquarie. The events include a youth skate, scooter and bike competition at Charlestown Skate Park, a youth festival at Pasterfield Sporting Complex at Cameron Park, an expo for young people at Belmont Neighbourhood Centre and more.
Lease equity model for community, recreation and childcare facilities
Council will consider adopting a revised lease equity model for community, recreation and childcare facilities. The revised lease equity model will see the lessee contribute to cover the cost of rates, waste services, gutter cleaning and lease preparation costs.
