Local singer Lisa Crouch will headline a Seniors Concert held next month as part of the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere.

Lake Macquarie City Council’s annual Seniors Concert at Belmont 16 Foot Sailing Club will also feature premier music combo the Funky Do Da’s, who have been entertaining audiences since 1992.

The Monday 18 February event is held as part of the NSW Seniors Festival – formerly known as Seniors Week, reaching an estimated 500,000 seniors statewide.

It is free to everyone aged 55 and over.

Mayor of Lake Macquarie, Cr Kay Fraser, said more than 67,000 Lake Macquarie residents were over-55s.

“Seniors make up a significant and important part of our community,” Cr Fraser said.

“Our Seniors Concert is an opportunity to celebrate the richness, diversity and life experience they bring to our City.”

The concert kicks off at 10am, with light refreshments served from 9.30am.

The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Individual and group bookings are essential and are available via the Eventbrite website or by phoning Council on 4921 0333.
