More space to play these school holidays
Date posted: 21 December 2018
Schools across Lake Macquarie will once again open their gates these school holidays, giving the community the opportunity to enjoy more playgrounds, ovals and sports facilities.
Following a successful trial during the summer school holidays, more Lake Macquarie schools have jumped onboard the NSW Government’s Share Our Space Program, which aims to give communities across the state better access to open public spaces.
Council’s Manager Community Planning, Andrew Bryant, welcomed the news that schools across the City would be participating in the program.
“Lake Macquarie residents already enjoy great access to community facilities like playgrounds, parks and reserves, and sports fields,” Mr Bryant said.
“The Share Our Space program makes it even easier for families across the City to get outdoors, get active and have some fun during the school holidays.”
The schools will be open from 8am-6pm every day from 22 December-25 January 2019.
