The Lake Mac Big Weekend, 13-15 October provides an opportunity like no other in the Hunter – from jetski racing to markets, free water sports and aerobatic displays, there’s something for everyone.

Event Program

Jet and Jive concert

When:
Friday, 6-9pm
Where:
Warners Bay Foreshore
Description:
The weekend will kick off with a free concert in the podium at Warners Bay Foreshore and there will also be a special demonstration on the water from the Jet Ski Racing Team from 5pm.

Superboat Championships

When:
Saturday 1pm and Sunday 11am and 1pm
Description:
Spectators can line up along the lake foreshore to watch high octane vessels race at speeds of up to 200km/h. The best viewing spots will be Warners Bay foreshore to Eleebana and Marmong Point foreshore reserve. You can also tune into 97.3FM for live race broadcasting both days. Jetski Racing

Where:
best viewed from Lions Park, Eleebana
Description:
Experience the adrenalin and excitement of PWC Jet Ski Racing. Friday there will be demonstration riding near Warners Bay foreshore from 5–6pm, Saturday will feature endurance racing from 9.30am-5pm and Sunday will showcase circuit racing from 8.30am-5pm

Come and try water sports

Saturday and Sunday, 10am-3pm
Where:
Marmong Point Sailing Club
Description:
Free water sports on the lake for families of all-ages on Saturday, 10am-3pm. Join them again on Sunday, for a barbecue, and secure your spot along the foreshore to watch the superboats..

Aerobatic Displays 

When:
Saturday 11.45am and 2pm and Sunday 9.45am and 11.45am
Description:
The team at Matt Hall Racing will dazzle crowds with an air display that will keep your eyes glued to the sky!

Warners Bay markets

When:
Saturday and Sunday, 9am-4pm
Where:
Warners Bay foreshore (opposite the main shops)
Description:
Warners Bay will come alive with markets, food stalls, children's amusements and live entertainment. Hosted by the Warners Bay Chamber of Commerce.

Exhibitions

When:
Saturday and Sunday, 10am-3pm
Where:
Warners Bay Foreshore (adjacent South Creek)
Description:
Community displays from the Scouts, Guides and RFS, a sausage sizzle and activities for the children. Plus you can get meet Frankie, the 5m great white shark, with the famous Shark in a Bus on site both days. Hosted by the Eleebana Lions Club.

Food of the World Fete

When:
Saturday and Sunday, 8am-4pm
Where:
Lake Macquarie High School
Description:
Park at the high school and enjoy the smells and taste of international cuisines, then walk down to Marmong Point Foreshore to watch the aerobatics and superboat racing action.

Wood workers open day

When:
Saturday and Sunday, 8am-4pm
Where:
Marmong Point Hall
Description:
Check out the handicrafts of the Lake Macquarie Woodworkers. Parking on site is available and then its just a hop, skip and jump over the road to catch the aerobatic displays and try the free watersports at the Sailing Club
