Landcare is a volunteer organisation devoted to caring for the environment in a hands-on and practical way.

There are more than 200 Landcare groups in Lake Macquarie.

Groups may do a range of activities from removing weeds from a local patch of bush through to stabilising the coast or lake foreshore.

Landcare Resource Centre

The Landcare Resource Centre (LRC) is staffed by Lake Macquarie City Council employees to support existing Landcare groups, assist in the growth of new groups and provide Landcare information to the general community.

How to get involved with Landcare

If you want to become a volunteer, you need to register on the Landcare website. You can join a group near you, create a new one or participate in the Green Team.

Lake Macquarie Landcare also obtains funding and support through donation and sponsorship.
