Building and planning enquiries
Our Development Planning tool allows you to research your development application online. However, if you have further enquiries you can obtain general building and planning advice from our Duty Building Officer or our Duty Planner.
While these officers cannot prepare your development documentation or provide legal advice, they can offer tips on where to find the relevant information within the Lake Macquarie Local Environmental Plan (LEP),Development Control Plans (DCP) and Development Guidelines.
The Duty Building Officer can assist you with:
- complying development certificates
- single home construction
- swimming pool construction
- fencing enquiries
- ancillary structures.
The Duty Planner can assist you with:
- general interpretation of LEP and DCP (provisions)
- development assessment requirements and forms
- zone enquiries
- dual occupancy and medium to high density residential development
- mixed use development
- home and commercial business development
- industrial development.
If you require more detailed information, a formal concept or pre-lodgement meeting with Council can be booked. Please note that the advice of a Duty Building Officer or the Duty Planner should be sought prior to doing so. Please call us on 02 4921 0333 or visit our Customer Service Centre between the hours of 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
