Community Recycling Centre

We are planning to construct an additional Community Recycling Facility at Floraville Road, Belmont North to improve access to recycling drop-off services in Lake Macquarie. Find out more.

The Community Recycling Centre, located at the Awaba Waste Management Facility, is a safe way to dispose of household waste, free of charge.

The following items are currently accepted in household quantities:

• gas cylinders (no LPG cylinders from cars)
• fire extinguishers
• eWaste (mobile phones and accessories; computers, printers and fax machines; CD and DVDs, televisions, stereos, video, DVD and Blu-ray players; hand-held electronic devices including power tools; portable household appliances)
• fluorescent light globes and tubes
• car batteries
• household batteries and light globes
• polystyrene
• cardboard
• smoke detectors
• X-rays
• Motor oil and other oils
• Aerosol cans
• soft plastics (foil/metallic plastics not accepted)
• CD and DVD covers 

Please wear enclosed shoes when visiting the facility.

The Community Recycling Centre is a NSW EPA Waste Less, Recycle More initiative, funded by the Waste Levy.
