Charlestown Library, walyamayi
Charlestown Library is our largest and busiest library, refurbished with a dynamic children’s area mural. It’s vibrant contemporary space aspires people to meet, acquire knowledge and share experiences.
There is a small outdoor space where you can either relax or play a game. Providing undercover parking, the library has a large meeting room with private courtyard available for hire, and an exhibition space which plays host to exhibitions that promote the visual arts within our City.
About Charlestown Library, walyamayi
The word walyamayi means “Top Camp” in Awabakal and refers to the higher elevation of the Charlestown area. walyamayi is also the cultural name given to Charlestown Library.
