Withdraw an application

Withdrawing an application means that Council will not make a determination on the proposal, and the development is no longer going to proceed.

Online

Step 1.Important information to know

The withdrawal of the following applications can be made with Council:

  • Bush fire attack level
  • Public works Certificate
  • Tree Application
  • Prelodgement meeting
  • Concept meeting

For all other applications, withdrawal needs to be made via the NSW Planning Portal:

  • Development Application
  • Construction Certificate
  • Building Information Certificate
  • Subdivision Certificate
  • Strata Certificate

Step 2.Gather your information

In order to withdraw an application, you must ensure the following:

  • The request to withdraw an application can only be made if the application has not been determined by Council
  • Only applicants are permitted to request the withdrawal
  • If you are not the payee, written authorisation from the payee will need to be provided

For further information on withdrawing an application, contact our Customer Service Centre on 02 4921 0333, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, and ask to speak with a Duty Officer.

Step 3.Refund

For a withdrawn application, a part refund may apply in accordance with Council's fees and charges.

Once you have submitted your application to withdraw and you would like to apply for a part refund, you will need to submit a request for a refund. Please ensure you have your bank account details ready before requesting a refund.

Step 4.Apply

Once you have gathered your documents, you can apply online to withdraw an application.  You'll need to upload electronic versions of the required documentation in order to complete your application.
