Trampoline Centre of Excellence
- Project typeSporting infrastructure
- Project value$10 million
In June 2018, Lake Macquarie City Council, Hunter Sports Centre and Gymnastics NSW announced a proposal to build Australia's only dedicated Trampoline Centre of Excellence at Glendale.
The proposed facilities will provide a dedicated space for the delivery of major events, sports tourism and a suite of innovative community health and fitness programs.
Lake Macquarie City Council has submitted an application for $7 million from the NSW Government's Regional Sports Infrastructure Fund to support construction of the $10 million Trampoline Centre of Excellence.
The state-of-the-art centre will have a 12-metre ceiling height, seating for 450 spectators, audio visual equipment for training purposes and a 1,500-square-metre arena equipped with nine trampolines, two double mini trampolines, two tumbling strips, a foam pit and warm-up area.
The NSW Trampoline Centre of Excellence project is part of a $35 million master plan for the expansion of the Hunter Sports Centre at Glendale, which will double the annual patronage of the busy sports complex.
