We've developed a Master Plan for Thomas H Halton Park(PDF, 6MB) at Croudace Bay to guide the park's transformation into an exciting recreation precinct. The plan was developed following extensive consultation with the community.

Key features

Some of the upgrades and improvements included in the Plan are:

  • new amenities blocks
  • an upgraded playground with picnic facilities
  • a learner cyclist circuit
  • a skate, BMX and scooter park
  • outdoor fitness equipment and exercise circuit
  • a fenced off-leash dog exercise area
  • maintain existing off-leash area
  • explore opportunities for a semi-permanent or permanent cafe

Everyone Can Play Grant

Council has been successful in obtaining a $200,000 grant from the State Government through the ‘Everyone Can Play’ grant program. This funding will be used to contribute to the playground component of the Master Plan.

Skate Park consultation

Consultation regarding the final design of the Skate Park is also now complete, with the result of this consultation informing final design of the skate park.

There were more than 420 respondents who completed the survey, with Option 2 the most preferred option between votes.

Dog exercise areas

While undertaking detailed designs, Council determined the southern end of the reserve was the ideal location for the fenced and unfenced dog exercise areas. The alternative site identified has several key environmental features preventing Council from using this site.
