Want to play an active role in shaping future developments for Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Region?

We are seeking local industry experts to represent Lake Macquarie City on the Hunter and Central Coast Regional Planning Panel - an expert industry body that considers regionally significant development applications and rezoning proposals.

Expressions of interest are for one fixed position and an ‘alternate’ member who would be called on if the fixed member was unavailable.

The appointment will be for a term of three years commencing in July 2021 and members will be paid for attendance at each meeting.

What are we looking for?

Lake Macquarie’s expert must demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • planning,
  • architecture,
  • heritage,
  • the environment,
  • urban design,
  • land economics,
  • traffic and transport,
  • law,
  • engineering, or
  • tourism.

You are not eligible to apply if you are:

  • a property developer (or a person who is a close associate of a property developer) within the meaning of section 96GB of the Election Funding, Expenditure and Disclosures Act 1981, or
  • a real estate agent within the meaning of the Property, Stock and Business Agents Act 2002.
