Access to information - Building and Development

You can apply for access to building and development information under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.

Online

Council has an online Application Tracking tool that enables documentation to be accessed online for development applications and construction certificates.

Please note only limited information is available online for applications submitted prior to 15 March 2004.

Council has a range of open access information already available to the public. If you are unsure whether a formal access application needs to be submitted, please contact our Customer Service Centre, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, on 4921 0333 or email gipagroup@lakemac.nsw.gov.au to discuss your enquiry.

Consider the information you require

If your require access to internal floor plans or Building Certificates, and you are not the owner of the property, you will need to have written consent of all the registered owners or you can submit a formal access application and third party consultation will be carried out.

When applying for access to building and development information, the following should be noted:

  • Allow 20-25 business days from the date of your application for the processing of your request. We will contact you when the documentation is available.
  • The documentation can be released to you electronically via email.
  • A photocopying fee will be charged for all photocopying. Charges apply as per Council's Pricing Policy.

Payment of any photocopying charges is required prior to Council releasing the requested documentation.

  • It should be noted that building and development information prior to 1970 may be unavailable.
