Bring a blanket, picnic and your family and friends along to an evening of music and a celebration of spring at Toronto’s Picnic in the Park on Friday 29 November.

Council’s Manager Community Partnerships Andrew Bryant said the free all-ages event would include live music, story-time sessions, face painting and other family entertainment.

“Events like Picnic in the Park allow neighbours to get to know each other, create new connections in their local area and also support a vibrant evening economy in key centres across our City,” Mr Bryant said.

“The event will showcase our beautiful lake, provide safe, fun and free entertainment for families and provide flow-on economic benefits to Toronto.”

Visitors to the event can pack a picnic dinner or grab a bite to eat at cafes and restaurants nearby and come down to the foreshore for free games and live entertainment by the lake.

Toronto Picnic in the Park will feature music from Connor Wink, a free meditation session, African drumming workshop, kids’ planting activities, face painting, giant lawn games, as well as a Chinese dancing performance.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and their own rugs and camping chairs.

This event is a joint initiative of the Sustainable Neighbourhood Alliance, Toronto Area Sustainable Neighbourhood Group, Five Bays Sustainable Neighbourhood Group, Lake Mac Libraries and Lake Macquarie City Council.
