Planning Proposal at Wyee
Councillors will consider approving a planning proposal to rezone 106 Wyee Road and 1496 Hue Hue Road, Wyee from RU4 Primary Production Small Lots to E1 Local Centre.
This rezoning would support commercial and retail development and expand the existing local centre to meet the needs of this growing area.
Regional Planning Panel and Design Review Panel appointment 2025
Councillors will discuss appointing three experts to represent Council on the Hunter and Central Coast Regional Planning Panel for a term of three years.
The Regional Planning Panel independently assesses and makes decisions on regionally significant development applications and planning matters, ensuring expert input on large-scale and complex projects in Lake Macquarie.
In addition, Councillors will discuss appointing five experts to Council’s Design Review Panel for a term of three years and appoint a chairperson.
The Design Review Panel provides independent expert advice to Council on the design quality of residential apartment developments, considering architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design to inform application assessments.
Requests for donations
Councillors will consider approving $2000 donations to the following organisations:
- The Australian Air League NSW – Belmont Squadron to assist with the costs of sending local cadets to recreational and training camps in 2025.
- The Heartland Foundation to assist with the costs of their Mobile Food Pantry project.
- The Quirky Quilters at St Luke’s Uniting Church Belmont to assist with the costs of materials to sew quilts and other items for women and children in local refuges.
Road widening at Warners Bay Road, Mount Hutton
Councillors will consider approving the purchase of part of 300 and 310 Warners Bay Road at Mount Hutton, for use as a public road, for $136,125.
The land is required to facilitate road upgrade works and will be dedicated as public road in accordance with the Roads Act 1993 on completion of the purchase.
