Election of Deputy Mayor

Council elected Cr Jason Pauling as Deputy Mayor. Cr Pauling will hold the position until September 2022.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said she looks forward to working with Cr Pauling in the role of Deputy Mayor.

“Cr Pauling brings a depth of experience to the role, and is a strong advocate for the local community.”

Option for countback election to fill casual Councillor vacancies 

Council authorised the use of countback votes cast at the election held on 4 December 2021 to fill casual vacancies of Councillors.

Standing Committees of Council and meeting schedule for new Council term

Council resolved to continue the current meeting schedule for Standing Committees, General Business Committee and Ordinary Council meetings. The schedule is as follows:

  • Standing Committees and the General Business Committee meet on the second Monday of each month
  • Ordinary Council meetings meet on the fourth Monday of each month.

Attendance at the 2022 Local Government NSW Special Conference – 28 February-2 March 2022

Council nominated the Mayor Cr Kay Fraser, Deputy Mayor Cr Jason Pauling, Cr Kate Warner, Cr Nick Jones, Cr Colin Grigg, Cr Christine Buckley and Cr Jack Antcliff as voting delegates at the 2022 LGNSW Special Conference from 28 February to 2 March 2022.

Community-centred Council Committee Framework Policy

Council adopted a new Community-centred Council Committee Framework Policy. The policy provides a consistent framework for creating and managing advisory groups and committees to assist in delivering key priorities.
