Council has welcomed the lodgement of Allambi Care’s development application for its $20m indoor recreation facility planned for Warners Bay in Lake Macquarie.

The development plans for the 30,000 square metre site that will be called Rushfields, feature lifestyle sports facilities such as an Olympic standard indoor skate park, BMX precinct and wave pool. The site will also include a restaurant and café zone, accommodation for up to 84 beds for international standard competitions and training options.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Cr Kay Fraser said that Council welcomed Allambi Care’s development application.

“Plans for this new recreation facility look incredible. Allambi Care are one of our largest employers in Lake Macquarie and provide essential services for our community. This will no doubt add to our growing top-class recreation facilities in Lake Macquarie and provide benefit for our community for years to come,” Cr Fraser said.

The development is set to create more than 118 full-time jobs once complete, which is great news for the Hunter, and a vote of confidence in Lake Macquarie City’s economy.
