Jacqui, brings the community together with stories, tech, and lots of fun
Jacqui’s always had a love of books, and while this born Librarian admits it’s not the usual vocation for a twenty-something, her role is far from dull.
For Book Week one year, she dressed as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, “I got to live my dream of being a fairy tale princess! The kids were captivated”. She puts a lot of thought into engaging littlies in story time with interactive games, and joining them in singing at the top of their lungs.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Jacqui and the Lake Mac Libraries team went above and beyond by supplying reading materials via home delivery to people within the Lake Mac community. The positive feedback they received was very rewarding, “It was lovely to be able to make someone’s day with a great book during a challenging time.”
She loves being able to help borrowers find that special read, and her contribution to the community is felt in the small moments. She gets a thrill out of helping school kids build epic robots, teaching grandparents the latest tech and instilling the love of the written word in readers of all ages.
For your dedication to our community on and off the sand
