Lake Mac Swim Centres Terms and Conditions - COVID-19

  • Lake Mac Swim Centres standard fees as stated in Lake Macquarie City Council Fees and Charges 2020/2021 apply from 1 July 2020. See www.lakemac.com.au
  • Lap swimming, leisure swimming, squad coaching, learn to swim and aqua fitness classes are available at Charlestown Swim Centre and West Wallsend Swim Centre. Swansea and Speers Point Swim Centres are closed for the season and will re-open in September 2021.
  • ALL persons visiting our Swim Centres will be required to check-in to the facility using the Service NSW App. This must be completed upon entry by using the Service NSW QR Code available onsite OR by reporting to reception. Refusing to do so will result in refusal of entry.
  • Facility capacities will apply to meet government regulations.
  • One hundred and forty (140) participants are allowed at one time at West Wallsend Swim Centre. Subject to change in line with NSW Public Health Orders.
  • Four hundred (400) participants are allowed at one time Charlestown Swim Centre and Speers Point Swim Centres. Subject to change in line with NSW Public Health Orders.
  • Three hundred (300) are allowed at one time at Swansea Swim Centre. Subject to change in line with NSW Public Health Orders.
  • If the Swim Centre is at capacity new arrivals will be denied entry until other patrons depart the Swim Centre.
  • The capacity of the splash pad is determined by the ability to practice social distancing in the space. If Lifeguards determine the splashpads to be full then patrons may be denied access for periods of time.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for supervision of children to maintain appropriate behaviour and social distancing from other patrons.
  • Fitness Passport accepted from 1st July 2020 for general entry swims.
  • Fitness Passport cannot be used for discounts to Programs (i.e. learn to swim lessons, squads or aqua Fitness classes).
  • Lake Macquarie City Council, Newcastle City Council and Port Stephens Council Corporate Fitness cards can be used for general entry swims.
  • Lake Macquarie Corporate Fitness cards can be used for a discount on all Program offerings.
  • Newcastle City Council Corporate Fitness cards can be used for discounts on squads and learn to swim (not for aqua fitness classes).
  • Private Lane Hire booking requests will be considered at the discretion of Swim Centre management due to limited swim resources available.
  • BBQs are available, social distancing rules apply.
  • Equipment such as kickboards and noodles are not available for loan. Patrons to supply their own equipment. Sharing of equipment is not permitted.
  • Social distancing principles are required to be followed at all times. All directions from staff to adhere to social distancing must be followed. Failure to respond to staff directions will result in eviction from the facility.
  • Swim Centre Staff will refuse entry to any patrons that present with symptoms of illness. Symptoms include: coughing, fever, sore throat. If you’re unwell, do not attend the facility.
  • NSW Companion Card holders will receive free entry when in attendance with the cardholder.
  • Swim Squad coaching is available at Charlestown and West Wallsend Swim Centres with restrictions in place. Squad Terms and Conditions outline the booking requirements for Swim Squads.  Bookings are essential.
  • Fitness classes (including Aqua Fitness and STOMP) are available at Charlestown and West Wallsend Swim Centres. Bookings are NOT required for Aquafit or STOMP sessions from 5 May 2021. 

   Squad COVID-19 Terms and Conditions

  • ­Lake Mac Swim Centres offer Swim Squads (still water) and STOMP at West Wallsend and Charlestown Swim Centres.
  • ­Swansea Swim Centre and Speers Point Swim Centres are closed for the season and will re-open in September 2021.
  • ­Swim Squads include White, Bronze, Silver and Gold squad levels and focus on still water swim coaching.
  • ­STOMP provides an aquatic fitness program for persons wanting swim training to complement existing activities such as surf sports, triathlon, open water, masters or professional endeavours. Sessions are for 60-90 minutes.
  • ­A Squad Coach will be assigned to each squad session catering to individual abilities.
  • ­Swimmers must maintain safe distancing from others in the lane.
  • ­Program spectators (parent/guardian/siblings) who are spectating only are free, although must adhere to social distancing protocols at all times.
  • ­Equipment is not available for loan. Swimmers to have own swim bag with equipment every time they come to squad session. Sharing of equipment is not permitted.
  • ­Social distancing principles are required to be followed at all times. All directions from staff to adhere to social distancing must be followed. Failure to respond to staff directions will result in eviction from the facility.

    Swim Squads

    ­Bookings are required for ALL swim squad sessions.

  • ­All squad sessions must be booked in advance. Bookings are made by contacting Reception at the Swim Centre.
  • ­Swim squads are currently available at Charlestown and West Wallsend Swim Centres.
  • ­Swansea Swim Centre and Speers Point Swim Centres are closed for the season and will re-open in September.
  • ­The fees are per person, per session, paid monthly. The multiple sessions per week rates apply to the same person enrolled in the Squad program.
  • ­Fees are available on Lake Macquarie City Council website under Fees and Charges 2020/2021 at www.lakemac.com.au
  • ­Our unlimited monthly squad session fee remains available with additional restrictions in place. Participants will need to book into sessions. It is important that persons ONLY book into those sessions they will be attending. Consistent failure to attend booked sessions may result in exclusion from those sessions.
  • ­If a swimmer arrives to an unbooked session, and the class is full, we will refuse entry to the class to comply with current public health order requirements.
  • ­Squad bookings are to be paid upfront in monthly blocks based on the number of sessions booked per week, per the applicable rate, and the number of weeks/sessions in the calendar month.
  • ­No refund for cancellations or failure to attend. Cancellations that provide notice to the Centre before the end of the Squad lesson that the Squad member is booked into, may receive a make-up session if a vacancy exists within the same calendar month only. Make-ups must be used in the same calendar month as awarded they cannot be accumulated for use in following months. No make-up session will be provided for cancellations without notice provided to the Swim Centre before the end of the squad lesson that the Squad member is booked into. Each month unused makeup sessions will be erased. A make-up session or credit will be provided for sessions cancelled by the Swim Centre due to unforeseen circumstances e.g. weather conditions. Make-up sessions cannot be transferred into credit amounts.

     

    STOMP Squads

     ­No bookings required for STOMP sessions from 5 May 2021.

  • ­STOMP sessions are currently available at Charlestown and West Wallsend Swim Centres.
  • ­Swansea Swim Centre and Speers Point Swim Centres are closed for the season and will re-open in September.
  • ­Participants are able to pay per visit or purchase a multi-visit fitness pass to receive a discounted entry.
  • ­Multi-visit fitness passes may be purchased in quantities of 10 or 20. Each quantity purchased is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • ­Applicable casual fees and multi-visit fitness pass fees are available on Lake Macquarie City Council website under Fees and Charges 2020/21 at www.lakemac.com.au
  • ­Payment must be made on arrival at the Swim Centre prior to your session. Payment can be made by card or cash (card is preferable). No credits will be allowed.

 

Learn to Swim - COVID-19 Terms and Conditions

  • Learn to Swim lessons are currently available at West Wallsend and Charlestown Swim Centres. Speers Point and Swansea Swim Centres are closed for the season and will re-open in September 2021.
  •  Learn to Swim fees will be as per the standard Lake Macquarie City Council Fees and Charges 2020/2021, available at www.lakemac.com.au
  • All Learn to Swim lessons must be pre-booked by calling the Swim Centre where you would like to book the lesson.
  • The fees are per person, per lesson, paid in term blocks. The two (2) or more lessons per week rate applies to the same person enrolled for two or more lessons each week.
  • Bookings are required for all Learn to Swim lessons. Class lessons must be booked and paid upfront for a full term. Terms are based on school terms which may vary in duration. A Swim Centre Team Leader has discretion to offer shorter term block payments in certain circumstances e.g. financial hardship.
  • Cancellations - No refund for cancellations or failure to attend.
  • No make-up lesson for cancellations with less than four (4) hours’ notice. Cancellations greater than four (4) hours’ notice may receive a make-up lesson if a vacancy exists within the same term, should the program be at full capacity or the available program times are unsuitable the make-up will be rolled over into a credit for re enrolment into the following term. Credits are not cash redeemable.
  • A make-up lesson or credit will be provided for lessons cancelled by the Swim Centre due to unforeseen circumstances e.g. weather conditions.
  • Learn to Swim non-refundable deposits are payable at Swim Centres to secure Learn to Swim bookings. Minimum payment required is the price of two lessons (calculated on 1 lesson per week pricing).
  • Siblings must not engage in unsupervised recreational swimming while other siblings attend lessons. Parents are responsible for supervision.
  • For Starfish, Jellyfish and Turtle levels, if the parent/carer is unable to enter the water the lesson is forfeited.  No credit or makeup will be provided if the carer/parent is not available to accompany the child in the water for the duration of their lesson.
  • Private Lessons bookings are required for all private lessons. Private lessons must be booked and paid in advance of each scheduled private lesson or paid in blocks of 5. 15-minute bookings per child only. A booking for a 30-minute private lesson will apply to a maximum of 2 children. Payment for 2 children in a 30-minute private lesson will be charged separately at the 15-minute private lesson rate.
  • Private lessons may not be offered during peak periods and are subject to instructor availability.
  • Private lesson cancellations will not receive a refund for cancellations or failure to attend. A credit will be issued if the private lesson is cancelled with greater than four (4) hours’ notice. A credit will be provided for lessons cancelled by the Swim Centre due to unforeseen circumstances e.g. weather conditions.
  • A Corporate Fitness member participating in a program is required to pay the applicable Corporate Fitness program fee. This fee may be payable in block amounts and the remainder fee is charged to the Corporate Fitness Partner organisation.
  • Program Spectators (parent/guardian/siblings) who are spectating only are free, although must adhere to social distancing protocols at all times. If these are not followed persons will be directed to leave the Swim Centre.
  • Equipment is not available for loan. Sharing of equipment is not permitted.
