Youth Advisory Council

The Lake Macquarie Youth Advisory Council (Lake Mac YAC) provides an important opportunity for young people to have input into Council decisions.

Lake Mac YAC:

  • offers young people the opportunity to participate in the public life of Lake Macquarie City
  • finds out about issues that are important to young people in the local area and provides advice to Council about addressing issues facing young people
  • participates in the planning, running and evaluation of local initiatives and projects for young people

Meetings are held each month on the second Wednesday of the month from 5-7pm. Council's Community Planner for Young People, the Lake Macquarie Youth Development Officer, three Councillors and the Mayor are also members of the Lake Mac YAC. Lake Mac YAC welcomes visitors to sit in on meetings to see what the Council is all about.
