LMW comprises some 30 players, primarily of wind instruments and a percussion section. The aims of the band are to provide entertainment for the community, to promote music in the area, and to encourage participation in music.
Lake Macquarie Winds is an active community Concert Band comprising 27 amateur musicians under the baton of Dr Mark Pinner. The range of instruments includes flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, trombones, French horns, euphoniums, tubas and percussion.
We play a variety of music from the classics, musicals, jazz and popular music.
We love what we do and look forward to seeing you for an afternoon celebrating our passion and creativity in the spirit of William Dobell.
