Meat-Free Meals Challenge

The world's food system is responsible for about one-quarter of the human-generated greenhouse gases produced each year.

Some foods create far more emissions than others, with meat production having the biggest impact of all. Producing meat has a significant environmental cost - it releases huge amounts of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and contributes to land clearing and habitat destruction.

The biggest single thing you can do to decrease your own food footprint is to reduce the amount of red meat that you eat. Simply swapping out one or two meat meals to plant-based meals every week will save huge amounts of emissions per year, and has major benefits for your health as well.
