What does an ideal home look and feel like to you?
An ideal home for us is a happy space that brings a family together. Every square metre should have a functionality and a purpose. It is timeless in terms of the structure and fixed items throughout. There is plenty of light, greenery, open spaces and everything should be in its intuitive place.

What are you looking for in the winning design?
We are looking for creative and innovative ideas which meet the realistic needs of a functional, comfortable and environmentally friendly house. It is important for all aspects to be considered, from the design, cost and ongoing maintenance.

What is your favourite thing to do in Lake Macquarie?
We love going for a swim and having fish and chips on the water at Pelican.

Share a career highlight with us
We love working as a team and being challenged, which is why The Block really appealed to us. We are also very passionate about working with charities. Max works for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter which is very rewarding and together we have done a lot with charities. One fundraiser which stands out is when we walked 1,200km from Melbourne to Newcastle for the Starlight Children's Foundation.

What are some of the most exciting things coming out of home design and building industry that excites you?
The fact that people are going back to basics and wanting to have a positive impact on the environment is very exciting. From using recycled and sustainable materials, to incorporating veggie gardens and rain water tanks.

What does wellbeing mean to you? How do you find balance in your life?
Wellbeing for us is a lifestyle, it's looking after ourselves and what makes us happy. Wellbeing is a conscious daily choice. For us, wellbeing is lots of family time outdoors, being active and always having a new adventure to look forward to.
