Ageing Population Plan
In 2008, Council endorsed the Lake Macquarie Ageing Population Plan 2008-2017. This Plan identifies the local impacts of an ageing population and provides a framework for a response by Council and other stakeholders. The Plan allows Council to integrate the actions into its strategic plans, allocate funds, and establish partnerships and policies.
The Plan examines impacts on the following Council roles:
- Planner and regulator of the built environment;
- Owner and manager of the natural and built environment;
- Service provider;
- Employer; and
- Community leader and advocate.
