Cemeteries
Lake Macquarie City Council manages nine cemeteries at the following locations:
- Belmont Cemetery - Green Street, Belmont South
- Catherine Hill Bay Cemetery – Northwood Road, off Flowers Drive, Catherine Hill Bay
- Johnston Family Cemetery - Off Appletree Road, Barnsley
- Morisset Cemetery - Off Nentoura Road, Morisset
- Martinsville Pioneer Cemetery - Martinsville Road, Martinsville
- Toronto Cemetery - Awaba Road, Toronto West
- West Wallsend Cemetery - Cemetery Road, West Wallsend
- Whitebridge Cemetery - Dudley Road, Whitebridge
- Wyee Cemetery - Off Summerhayes Road, Wyee
Council took over the management of the cemeteries in approximately 1974. Up to this time, local parishes/church trustees conducted burials. Council has documented burials from church, funeral directors and gravediggers but many records are incomplete. Please note that all of Council’s cemeteries have “unknown” and “unmarked’ graves.
Please note, burials in Belmont, Johnston Family, West Wallsend and Whitebridge Cemeteries are only available for existing reservations.
