Community Halls & Centres

There are over 40 facilities for hire throughout the Lake Macquarie City Council area, which are available for meetings plus community and social activities.  Some of the facilities are directly managed by Council while others are managed by local committees or community organisations.

These facilities vary from weatherboard community halls built 100 years ago to the newly constructed Cameron Park Community Centre.  Each unique facility varies in size, fixtures, and areas to hire.

These include:

  • casual hire for functions, meetings, and conferences; and
  • regular hire for community and social activities such as playgroups, senior citizens, youth groups, and dance tuition.

A full list of facilities for hire is available in Council’s Community Directory.

Lake Macquarie City Council has adopted a Strategy to manage the community facilities accross the Lake Macquarie area, including community halls and centres. For more information, view the Lake Macquarie Community Facilities Strategy.
